TACTOS allows people with visual impairments to experience in a digital environment.

The Tactos system is composed of 3 elements: a screen, a tablet or smartphone touchscreen, and a tactile feedback device.

 

Smartphone

The smartphone is used to control the cursor on the screen.

Screen

The cursor pass the shapes on the screen and they are transcribed through the braille cell.

Tactile feedback

The Braille cell simulates a tactile representation of the zone of screen indicated by the cursor.

The users can identify simple shapes on the interface after training for several hours. This device becomes complete with other technologies such as the speech synthesis and the keyboard shortcut. The synergy of these different tools allows people with visual disabilities to perceive the site.
